At Jay & Co we offer a variety of on or off site training programmes for hard to reach groups in the community, with a specific expertise in the area of young people, who are disadvantaged, disengaged and disruptive.

Jay & Co is currently working on getting a regeneration project off the ground in Wolverhampton. In addition to this project, we are also being filmed by the BBC to be in their Money for Nothing show series about up-cycling furniture that is found in skips.

We suggest that we come and meet you and the young people you work with in your environment, get to understand the challenges you face, and then create a bespoke programme that will excite, energise and empower young people to take positive action in their lives.

The core programmes that we offer are as follows:

3 hour workshop on a dying British craft, i.e chair restoration, painting furniture, chair caning, chair rushing etc.

6 hour workshop on a dying British craft, and a seminar on setting up your own business.

5 day training programme, where young people are trained on furniture revamping, making furniture, business skills, self development and life skills. The programme will focus on each participant having a chair to work on throughout the duration and leave the programme with their finished chair. The atmosphere will incorporate learning, self development, community awareness, subtle life coaching using fun but disciplined methods.

As well as everything covered in the 1 week programme, the 2 week programme includes visits to 2 businesses, a visit to a furniture museum, and deeper levels of mentoring & life coaching.

The capacity for these programmes is up to 20 young people, and we will have 2 CRB checked workers running the programme. We can offer to run these in your venue if you have a space you can allocate, or alternatively we can book a community centre nearby for the duration of the programme you would like us to deliver.

Please get in touch with us on 07713 430887 or via email to arrange a meeting where we can discuss your needs and develop a programme most suitable to what you need.
